Editorial policy

How we create practical, carefully sourced hydration education for athletes and families.

Who writes our articles

Hydr8Stx Learn articles are created by the Hydr8Stx Editorial Team. The byline identifies the organization responsible for researching, writing, fact-checking, and maintaining each guide. We do not create a fictional individual author or attach credentials the team does not hold.

Sources and evidence

We prioritize peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, clinical or professional position statements, and guidance from established public health and sports organizations. Product serving sizes, ingredients, allergens, and nutrition facts are checked against current approved packaging. Sources used for factual claims are linked in the article and listed again at the end so readers can inspect them directly.

How we handle product claims

We describe what a formula contains and place those ingredients in the context of published hydration guidance. We do not turn an ingredient’s normal role in the body into proof that a product will prevent illness, stop cramps, speed recovery, or improve performance. We explain when water is likely enough and do not present hydration powder as a universal replacement for water, food, sleep, or professional care.

Expert review

We name a reviewer only after a qualified professional has reviewed the exact published article and approved how their name and credentials will appear. Until then, the page does not imply medical or dietetic review. A dietitian or clinician’s review can strengthen an educational article, but it does not replace legal or regulatory review of supplement claims.

Corrections and updates

We correct factual errors and update guidance when stronger evidence, professional recommendations, or product labels materially change. The visible updated date and sitemap date change only when the article itself changes in a meaningful way. We aim to review Learn articles at least annually, even when no update is needed.

Educational limits

Learn articles provide general educational information. They are not medical advice and cannot account for an athlete’s health history, medications, symptoms, diet, environment, or individual sweat losses. Readers should use a qualified healthcare professional for personal guidance and urgent medical services for severe symptoms.
